Our Activities
Our sole purpose is to save and promote our library.
- Advocate for our library to the D.C. government.
- Seasonal used-book sales.
- Speaker series featuring neighborhood authors.
Provide refreshments for the library’s children’s summer reading program.- Contribute funds to the children’s arts and crafts program.
- Celebrate Banned Books Week.
- Sell books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, and LPs in conjunction with the Shepherd Park Citizens Associations’ Yard Sale.
- And with your help, we will do even more!
Meetings
The Friends generally meets every other month at the Library. The save-our-library Strategy, Mobilization, and Communication teams meet as needed.
The Best Perk of All
Only Friends members may donate books or other media to the Used Book Room. How cool is that?
